I'm just going to give that one to them because they are kicking ass and doing their homework. But it still didn't show that in the show. Maybe we can assume that he's taken a lot of password dumps from linkedin and the alleged gmail dump and ashley madison and added them all up and found the guys' emails in them. Pro-hacker might have hacked google and got a dump of hashes for all we know, but I imagine they would have explained that or showed it.
Unless he has some gmail hash dump he wouldn't be able to do that - but maybe we could assume he does. You can't crack their password if you don't have anything to crack, and you're not going to be able to bruteforce gmail. Me and a few of my buddies in security research do really appreciate how much effort was put into adding real world hacking into it.īut what you bring up is the major thing I had an issue with. Yeah, there's a lot of very legitimate stuff in the show and they really did their research.
